Teachers will not be forced to be vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to achieve the desired level of vaccinated teachers.
This was stated by Minister of Education Serhiy Shkarlet on the air of the «Breakfast with 1+1» programme.
«No one will be forced to get vaccinated, as each person may have individual medical contraindications, such as allergies,» the minister said.
At the same time, Sergiy Shkarlet stressed that during his visit to Zhytomyr region and communication with teachers in the region, he was convinced that teachers were quite optimistic about the new norm on the need to vaccinate 80 % teachers to ensure the educational process, as everyone wants to return to regular education and conduct the educational process in full.
«Parents themselves are pushing teachers to do this. But it depends on our consciousness, if we want to have a healthy nation, to have a full-fledged educational process, we need to be vaccinated. There can be no compulsory vaccination. If there is no 80% vaccinated teaching staff, the educational process will take place in remote or mixed formats,» the Minister of Education said.
