University applicants in frontline regions will have their entry scores raised
Regional coefficients, which are taken into account when calculating applicants’ competitive scores, have been updated for higher education institutions located in certain regions of Ukraine. This was announced by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. A regional coefficient of 1.07 will apply to higher education institutions in the Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Sumy and Kharkiv regions. A coefficient of 1.04 has been set for universities in the Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava and Chernihiv regions. This coefficient is taken into account when calculating an applicant’s competitive score and depends on the actual location of the institution.
Creative competitions and interviews have begun for prospective undergraduates
In Ukraine, individual interviews and creative competitions have begun for applicants to higher education institutions who have registered to sit these tests via the online portal. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has set the duration of the 2026/27 academic year for general secondary education institutions. The government adopted the relevant resolution, «On the start of the academic year during martial law in Ukraine», on 1 July 2026.
