Currently, 8,671 schools in Ukraine are working remotely, and another 56 schools are on holiday.
This was announced by the Minister of Education and Science Serhiy Shkarlet, commenting on the vaccination campaign among educators and the epidemic situation in the regions.
According to him, the transition to distance learning is due to the deteriorating epidemic situation in the regions.
The Minister also noted that only 3% educators have not yet joined the All-Ukrainian vaccination campaign.
Just over 1% of school staff have contraindications to vaccination.
«I would like to remind you once again that vaccination remains the only and most effective way to reduce the risk of COVID-19 and protect yourself from severe coronavirus disease,» Shkarlet said.
As you know, the number of hospitalised children has tripled since the beginning of the year. Currently, almost two and a half thousand children with both confirmed COVID-19 and suspected coronavirus are undergoing inpatient treatment.
