The quality of distance learning has improved compared to the 2019/20 academic year.
This is stated in the 2021 report of Ruslan Gurak, Head of the State Education Quality Service, which refers to relevant monitoring studies on the quality of distance education.
According to him, most participants in the educational process (seven out of ten) note that the quality of distance learning in 2021 has increased compared to the 2019/20 academic year.
«Teachers worked hard to master distance technologies, often using communication programmes such as Zoom and Classroom (21%). A third of the teachers surveyed systematically used materials posted on the All-Ukrainian School Online platform for distance and blended learning,« the State Education Quality Service said.
At the same time, maintaining motivation during distance learning was a challenge for many children. The fact that students are reluctant to engage in distance learning was also mentioned by 44% teachers.
«However, the results of calculating the index of satisfaction of consumers of educational services indicate that the problems of almost all categories of participants in the educational process, which appeared in the spring of 2020 with the transition to distance learning, were gradually resolved in 2021,» the State Service emphasises.
It is noted that for some students, distance learning has provided new opportunities, in particular, to work more at their own pace; to take breaks when necessary, rather than at a set time; to be in a comfortable space that meets their sensory needs.
