The term of all existing specialised academic councils was extended

Candidate or doctoral degree holders will be able to defend their work and receive their diplomas by 15 May 2021.

The relevant order was signed by the acting Minister of Education and Science Serhiy Shkarlet.

In particular, the Ministry of Education and Science has extended the validity of all existing specialised academic councils.

The decision was preceded by amendments to the Law on Higher Education adopted on 4 June 2020.

On 15 July 2020, the Cabinet of Ministers allowed specialised academic councils to hold meetings via video link.
