The Ministry of Justice launches an anti-bullying awareness campaign.
This was reported by Deputy Minister of Justice Valeriia Kolomiets.
According to her, bullying is quite common in educational institutions around the world, including in Ukraine.
«Among the topics on which we are asked to hold events in educational institutions, the most popular is bullying, in all its forms. Our goal is to help victims of bullying and explain why they should not hide the facts of bullying and where to seek help,» Kolomiets said.
She also stressed that systematic bullying, humiliating treatment, insults and other types of psychological violence by both children and teachers are unacceptable and require an appropriate response.
In addition, she said that if parents or children need legal assistance, they can get it in Telegram or Viber messengers, use the Free Legal Aid mobile application by downloading it via Google Play or the App Store at the link, download the Your Right mobile application, or call the toll-free number 0 800 213 103.
The Ministry of Justice reminds that bullying of a participant in the educational process, which has resulted in damage to the mental or physical health of the victim, is subject to administrative liability, which provides for a fine of fifty to one hundred tax-free minimum incomes or community service for a period of twenty to forty hours.
In cases where bullying was committed by children under 16, the parents of the bullies are held liable.
