The Ministry of Education and Science is counting on the continued support of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Ukraine.
This was stated by Minister of Education Serhiy Shkarlet during an online meeting with the head of the foundation's representative office in Ukraine, Lotta Sylwander.
According to the minister, his department is counting on UNICEF's continued support in providing lessons to the All-Ukrainian Online School and teaching digital literacy to school and university teachers.
In addition, the MES hopes to receive UNICEF's support in professional development of school principals in managing schools in the context of distance learning, as well as in strengthening the communication component of digitalisation of education to better highlight what has already been done and what is planned.
«I am convinced that our further cooperation in the field of education will be as fruitful and productive as possible. UNICEF remains our reliable partner in the field of human development, and we see this partnership as one of the key factors in the successful implementation of educational reforms in Ukraine,» said Serhiy Shkarlet.
At the end of the conversation, the parties agreed to hold a further meeting to work out in detail the proposals from the Ministry of Education and Science on the needs of the Ukrainian education sector.
