Six Ukrainian universities will receive funds to modernise and improve the energy efficiency of their academic buildings and dormitories as part of the Higher Education in Ukraine project.
The project is being implemented with the support of the European Investment Bank and a grant from the Eastern European Partnership Energy Efficiency and Environment Facility.
In particular, Vinnytsia National Technical University, National Technical University «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute», Lviv Polytechnic National University, National University «Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic», National University «Chernihiv Polytechnic», and Sumy State University will take part in the project.
It is expected that these universities will soon be joined by eight more higher education institutions that have competitively won the right to participate in the second phase of the project.
In total, the European Investment Bank intends to invest EUR 120 million in the comprehensive thermal modernisation of Ukrainian universities.
