On June 7, 2012, an external independent assessment in biology took place. This test concluded the main session of this year’s testing. Applicants and their parents are still waiting for the results of the ZNO-2012 examination, and those who are preparing to enter higher education institutions next year are already looking for information on effective methods of monitoring preparation for the upcoming admissions campaign. This concerns issues of organization of the educational process at school, as well as methods of individual training of students.

Specialists of the Research Institute of Applied Information Technologies have prepared an online resource Entrant for individual training of test-taking skills, and for secondary educational institutions stationary (not requiring Internet connection) solution — automated system «Test».

The effectiveness of the system of general secondary education, its ability to quickly respond to the challenges of time, to make timely and balanced management decisions is directly related to the system of monitoring the quality of education. This approach assumes the availability of information support for all levels of education, high-quality measuring tools and the use of modern technologies. Computer performance testing fully meets these requirements. AS «Test» provides an opportunity to implement the main didactic principles of monitoring learning at school:

In the «Test» system two test formats are provided: control — for evaluating students and training — for familiarization and training. After the testing is completed, statistical reports are generated automatically, which display:

• statistical parameters of the test, test tasks, distractors;


• time of passing each task;


• percentage of correct answers to each question for an individual student, class, school, district;


• converting raw scores to grades.
  Information is presented in graphic form and summary tables. The results are automatically entered into the program, in the «Test Results» module.

The web resource Entrant provides an opportunity to independently check the level of knowledge, as well as to get advice on which topic, from the subject chosen for testing, need refinement.
