The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the decision initiated by the Ministry of Health to extend the quarantine until 1 October 2021.
The decision was made during a government meeting.
According to Health Minister Viktor Liashko, there are no prerequisites for changing the level of epidemic danger in Ukraine. At the same time, vaccination is an effective protection against coronavirus.
«The number of new cases has been increasing in recent weeks, but there are no prerequisites for changing the level of epidemic danger. I urge everyone to get vaccinated and protect themselves from the possible severe consequences of the coronavirus,» the Health Minister said.
Viktor Lyashko also said that to counter the spread of coronavirus, in particular its «Delta» strain, the Cabinet of Ministers has tightened the rules for crossing the border. However, vaccination is the only effective way to protect against severe illness or death.
According to the Ministry of Health, all COVID-19 vaccines used in Ukraine are WHO-approved for emergency use. They are safe and effective.
Vaccination against COVID-19 in Ukraine is carried out by mobile immunisation teams, vaccination points and mass vaccination centres.
