AC «Admissions Commission» and some innovations in university admissions in 2012

Director of the Department of Higher Education of the Ministry of Youth and Sport, Yu.M. Korovaichenko in interview told the newspaper «Education of Ukraine» dated 04.06.2012 No. 23 about the rules regarding the clear and transparent publication of rating lists of entrants.
The first list must be published on August 1 no later than 12:00. The second and third no later than 12 o’clock on August 5 and 8, respectively. In this regard, Yuriy Mykolayovych emphasized that the employees of admission commissions bear a great responsibility. After all, any unreasonable delay in the publication of the lists arouses justifiable suspicion among the entrants about possible violations and abuses during enrollment. And as a result, it leads to numerous calls to the ministry’s hotline. The use of JSC «Admission Commission» allows you to avoid problems with the timely preparation of rating lists of entrants.
It is possible that this year’s online registration of applicants, which the Ministry of Education and Science, Youth and Sports intends to open from July 2, will reduce the queues at university admissions committees. Although, according to Minister Dmytro Tabachnyk during the briefing, the system can sometimes fail , but he hopes that won’t happen. Therefore, it will be possible to register for admission to a higher education institution using the Internet, and submit documents in person. Under any circumstances, the introductory campaign should be a controlled process at all stages. It is for this purpose that specialists of the Research Institute of Applied Information Technologies have developed an automated system «Admission Commission» which provides the management of universities with operational information about work results of the admissions committee, and applicants and parents — about the progress of receiving documents and the enrollment process.
